GOLDEN VALLEY, MN, May 15, 2026 — Fluency Digital today launched MyBHLocator (https://mybhlocator.com), an AI-powered directory that helps Minnesotans find more than 36,000 mental health and addiction treatment providers across the state. The system uses large language models to read public records every day and update its listings — addressing a problem that has plagued provider directories for years: most go out of date within weeks of being published.

Anyone looking for help — patients, family members, primary care doctors, school counselors — can search by what kind of care they need, where they live, and what insurance they accept. The directory includes Medicaid-accepting providers, child and adolescent specialists, addiction treatment, and care in Spanish, Somali, Hmong, and Vietnamese. The site is free, requires no account, and surfaces 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline resources prominently.

"Minnesotans dealing with mental health or addiction shouldn't have to make dozens of phone calls just to find someone taking new patients," said Stephen Taylor, Co-Founder of Fluency Digital. "Existing directories go stale within weeks. We built one that uses AI to update itself from public records every day, in the languages real Minnesotans speak."

Patients and case managers often report calling 20 or more providers before reaching one who has openings, accepts their insurance, and treats their condition. MyBHLocator was designed to compress that search into a single query — and to stay accurate over time without manual upkeep.

How AI keeps the data current

MyBHLocator is built on a retrieval-augmented (RAG) AI pipeline. The system continuously ingests from authoritative public sources — the federal NPPES NPI Registry, the Minnesota Medicaid (MHCP) provider files, and licensed clinic websites — and applies large language models to extract and cross-validate structured fields such as services offered, accepted insurance, hours of operation, and languages spoken.

AI-derived fields are grounded in retrieved source documents, and every provider record links back to authoritative external sources — including the federal NPPES National Provider Registry and, where available, the provider's own website — a design choice that addresses the accuracy concerns that have kept many healthcare organizations from putting AI into production.

A second layer of deterministic checks handles entity resolution (deduplicating organizations across spelling variants), address normalization, taxonomy-code filtering to keep the directory behavioral-health-only, and geospatial inference for county and ZIP rollups. Translations into the four supplementary languages are produced through a machine-translation pipeline with clinical-terminology safeguards.

For health plans: AI tools for CMS directory compliance

CMS is tightening enforcement of provider-directory accuracy requirements for Medicare Advantage and Medicaid plans. Most plans struggle to maintain the 90 percent accuracy threshold the agency now requires. Fluency Digital has built payer-facing audit tools on the same AI validation infrastructure that powers consumer search.

"We found over 3,600 ghost network risk providers in a single Minnesota health plan audit," Taylor said. "The 90 percent accuracy threshold isn't optional anymore. Plans need better data — and AI-augmented validation makes that work tractable at directory scale."

For providers

Mental health clinicians and treatment facilities can claim their MyBHLocator profile for free, update their information directly, and see how often their profile appears in patient searches. Claimed profiles display a verified badge visible to patients.
